Disney World split stay for a family of 5: three ways to book

A family of five is one of the harder Walt Disney World requests: most Value resort rooms sleep four, so the search narrows to family suites and the Moderate rooms that sleep five. That is also where a split stay (two reservations, one move) earns its place in a quote.

We ran one live search for November 4 to 9, 2026, five nights, 2 adults and 3 kids, at Value and Moderate resorts. It found three ways to book the same trip: one room for $2,407, a split stay for $2,196, and a split that ends with a Deluxe night at Yacht Club for $2,467.

The short version

  • The trip: November 4 to 9, 2026, 5 nights, 2 adults and 3 kids, Value and Moderate resorts, hotel rooms and suites, up to 2 room changes.
  • One room: an All-Star Music Family Suite for all five nights, $2,407 at the standard price.
  • Split stay: 2 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, then 3 nights at All-Star Music, $2,196. That is $211 less (9%) with one move.
  • Add some magic: 4 nights at Port Orleans Riverside, then the last night at Yacht Club, $2,467. Only $60 more than the one-room stay, and the trip ends at a Deluxe resort.
The search settings: November 4 to 9, 2026, 5 nights, 2 adults and 3 kids, Value and Moderate resorts, hotel rooms and suites, up to 2 room changes.

The search: one trip, one search

The search was for November 4 to 9, 2026: 5 nights, 2 adults and 3 kids, at Value and Moderate resorts, in hotel rooms and suites, allowing up to 2 room changes.

Five people is the hard part. Most Value rooms sleep 4, so a family of five needs a family suite (at All-Star Music or Art of Animation) or a Moderate room that sleeps 5. That short list is why the cheapest single room for the whole trip tends to cost more than a family expects, and why moving once can help.

Three tickets for the same trip: one room at All-Star Music for $2,407, a split stay at Port Orleans Riverside then All-Star Music for $2,196, and Port Orleans Riverside then a last night at Yacht Club for $2,467.

Three ways to book the same trip

  • One room, $2,407. An All-Star Music Family Suite for all five nights, at Disney's standard price (no offer applied to this room). The client unpacks once.
  • Split stay, $2,196. Two nights at Port Orleans Riverside (November 4 to 6), then three at All-Star Music (November 6 to 9). Some nights were covered by Disney's "Save Up to 20% on Rooms This Holiday Season" offer. It costs $211 less than the one-room stay, 9% less, with one move on November 6.
  • Add some magic, $2,467. Four Moderate nights at Port Orleans Riverside (November 4 to 8), then the last night at Yacht Club (November 8 to 9). Some nights use the same offer, $121 under the standard price. It costs $60 more than the one-room stay and $271 more than the cheapest split, and the trip ends at a Deluxe resort within walking distance of Epcot.

Which one to quote depends on the client: the split saves the most, while the Yacht Club finish turns the last night into the highlight for about the price of one room. Disney's offer covers some nights and rooms and not others, which is a big part of why mixing resorts changes the total. Each of these is a separate reservation booked with Disney, and prices close in change quickly, so recheck before quoting.
